Exams are coming! I'm afraid to say that this blog has to remain on hold until I finish my finals, which is early November. Meanwhile, I've been reading Ming Thein's blog a lot lately, I feel inspired and I learn a lot from his insightful thoughts and articles, many of which got me thinking about the more important aspects of photography like composition, ideas, shot discipline etc. His writings are definitely worth a read.

Thanks for reading.

I'm heading towards Cradle Mountain again, for the 4th time in my life. Hope the weather will be dramatic! The weather forecast says fog in the morning and rain in the evening.. sounds like a great black and white landscape shootout to me! Fingers crossed.

6pm, 17th November

Just another relaxing afternoon at home.

~

This morning, me and a few friends went to the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) situated at Kepong. I didn't take as many photos as I'd like, and I got a taste of the typical Malaysian weather... I was the next wettest creature after marine animals.

It turned out that I'm really not good at photographing tropical rainforests, perhaps that's due to me being brought up in this environment and everything seems ordinary and uninteresting. Perhaps I should change a perspective and try to be more creative and curious when photographing our own forests.

I want to Shoot

'66 Minolta Hi-Matic 7s

'54 Kodak Retina IIIc

I have not been shooting for months. I'm tired of staying at home, looking out to the beautiful landscape and beautiful light, but not being able to pick up my camera and walk out for a shoot.

I want to shoot, just for the sake of shooting. I want to just pick up a camera and go. I want to keep shooting and go to wherever my heart brings me to. I want to travel, I want to roam the world.

Pain

I'm having my final exams these days, it's such a pain in the bottom.

But I'm halfway there!

I can do it!
